I like your ramps. Where did you get them? I need something like those but with a shallower ramp to get under the front of modern cars (like 'er indoors corsa and dottirs focus).
I use lengths of timber to extend the ramp for smaller vehicles
Saw ramps on line but their depot isn't far from me so went there and got some discount.

My 50 year old ramps are too steep for modern cars. Cars had more clearance at the front end back then, unlike moderns which have noses that almost touch the ground. Not found anything with a search, that will suit my needs. Like you I think a home spun "plank" method will have to continue to suffice.

TBH I have never had much luck with drivin onto them, so I tend to jack the vehicle up and put the ramps under them, or use axle stands.

I'd have the same problem with W's Pluriel.

Up at 6 a.m. this morn to take W to A&E.
She tripped and fell while we bimbled around Castres last week before lunch.
Of course she fell cos of her dodgy foot, the paralysed one and twisted it or summat.
We carried on and once home after the mega shop we thought about it. I didn't seem bruck so we decided to just bandage it up and for her to put it up. We carried on like that until yessdi when we went doon the toon and into a chemist's for summat else. The pharmacist said she thought it might still be a break so we bit the bullet and off we went.
Two hours later we came out, x-ray showed no break and they basically told us to carry on what we had been doing, although they did give her a sort of foot support and a scrip for 4 things. Said pharmacist discussed the scrip, W already had stronger pain killers than were on the scrip, the bandage was a bit of a joke and not as good as the one she had flogged us the previous day but we took it anyway as it looked a bit more old fashioned and comfortable, we decided she'd stop taking one sort of pill and take the anti-inflamatories prescribed plus the spray gel.
So, hospicle cost nowt, as it was an "emergency" and the scrip came to €12 odd.

Result! Big relief all round!. :):):)
Weather flipping hot again tempered by a big wind.
Have a lovely evening folks.
:):):)

Boughted a noo electric hand shears for grass and bushes, like the Stihl thing. You had to be careful, as many on display, although all costing much the same, didn't come with batt and charger. Looks like this a noo "thing" with batt powered stuff.

I'll buy some secondhand Stihl blades and sharpen and service them missen. That way she'll not be bovvad about battery power. ;):)

Wish they came with two batts, like other stuff does. :(

Off to Lavaur tomoz for the show "Rock and Cars" which is always fun.
Bizarrely the frogs can't get enough of yank wheels. Good music from the 50s and 60s, booze, food... should be good.
Then Sunday the Round Table are doing a thing up at the Lac de montagnes, just up the road from us. I'll have to wheel W round the lake but it will be very convivial and our dutch mate will be on the bar so we may be on for the odd free beer! Not that it matters cos in these dos a half-pint is €2!! And the communal meal will be good value too.
We LOVE all the stuff that goes on here in the summer, and SO much of it is free. You literally could be out and about every weekend having fun. So much on we have to pick and choose. :vb-love::vb-love::vb-love::vb-love:

Stihl are a sleekit bunch. They sell the machine but all the other bits are extras. Eg: you buy a chainsaw you get the actual machine but the guide bar and chain have to be bought separately..expensive way to buy kit. (Maybe still got a sad on from the war eh)

Fing is today everybody has elecy powered stuff so may already have batteries for that brand, which is why they now do them with/without batteries and chargers.

Tip of the week......

You need 2 lengths of rope...tie one end to the ramp & lay the rope out the full length of the motor and drive
over the rope, the weight of the motor on the rope stops it sliding away. :)

Tie the rope to the rear of the car so when you drive off,the ramps will follow. Saves walking too far carrying them back to the garage
