Never heard of Erbauer, I use snap on & dewalt, I think the dewalt batteries are pants though they never seam to last.
Everyone in the boat yard used dewalt so I can always borrow there stuff. :D

Well of course the whole thing was a voyage of discovery. To undo one screw in a panel which may or may not have been covering the tank, I had to remove half of the handle where the trigger and it's safety lock are. And that is where the fun started. A spring and how to fit it to the safety lock wasn't obvious. Of course it sprang out as soon as I very carefully took the two halves apart. Flipped about for ages and ages trying to figure out how to make it work and put it back together. It was not obvious at all.

When "ping" the spring shot off into the wild blue yonder.
Yes I was working outside, no way I could do a dirty job like that inside, no proper workshop with good light as we are so short of room. The spring is about 3 inches long, not a coil spring just a thin spring wire, and it is black. and the weeds nearby haven't been cut so they are about 2 foot high.
No chance of finding it.

So cheap I will prolly end up buying another. No one over here is likely to fix it for much less than the price of a noo one. This seems to be the country where I am forever having to fix things I know nothing much about.

A shame as it is a good machine when working, Easy to work on as regards the chain, sharpening etc, starts very easily and cuts well.

For the mo I am just going to rely on pouring a bit of chain oil onto the chain and bar from time to time, but that is not ideal, won't be doing the bar any good and will make any job take far more time. Wouldn't be so bothered except it is still very cold here in the evenings and we need the logs cut to burn.

Didnt know Cadbury's made chainsaws :p🤣🤣 Tis a pain when you loose a wheee part.
If I run oot of chain oil I just fire some 15w 40 in to it.

I used to have Dewalt cordless kit but it all went walkies one night from my lock-up and I couldn't afford to replace what I needed to carry on work in one hit.

I've been happy enough with with Erbauer and stuck with it since

Even Dewalt doesn't seem what it was and some accessories are very poor.

Milwaukee seem the best rated on site but is the province of those trying to stay out of the corporation tax bracket.

Funny now that you've mentioned the quality I have just bought a new dewalt drill as the other one which I think is
roughly 1 1/2 years old but with only light use, the issue is the chuck..it wouldnt realise a drill bit so I had to put
it in the vice to slacken it and now it wont hold a bit. Someone did say why dont you buy a new chuck then someone
else said better to replace the drill. Its kicking about in the shed. Thats a couple of my dewalt cordless thats packed in.
My nail gun started jamming think the firing pin is worn so thats out of action atm. My grinder trigger is starting to
play up to but that is well used so cant really complain. Milwaukee oooftt I wouldnt take any that gear near a site
youd need to have them harnessed on to you.

They aren't bad but.... IMO there is no point making a drill or impact driver that is "brushed" and not having the brushes replaceable. Makita brushed products you can get replacement brushes for, but not Erbauer, sealed for life (which for the brushes is all too short). :)

Even Snap on have a facility in Taiwan, the only good thing about them is that if you break somit you get it replaced.
Ive literally snapped a breaker bar ended up on my ass funny now lol replaced no problem & the other week I broke
the end off a pry bar no probs just grind it up & I'll get you a new one. When I was training as a mechanic I bought
all new mac tools & snap on stuff. Never busted any of that gear & ive still got loads of it but as always shinny stuff
goes missing.

I use Halfords professional because I'm not stripping to afford snap on 😂😂😂, lifetime warranty and when I snapped a bit replaced right away.
 
...that I have been foolish and bought another battery charger to replace the "dead" Ctek 7A one.
The new one is 24Karat Chinesium and 10A with 7 modes and was <£22.
A replacement of the Ctek was £109.
Now the Ctek may not be "dead" as if I use the "Supply" mode it pokes out 13.5V.
But, If I connect it to the quick connecter on the car (where my DVM says there is 12.7v) it fails to go into the charging modes at all whereas it used to steadily skip through all the modes/cycle to "supply" at the end.
Very puzzling, but I'd rather be sure I have a working charger.

None of the Erbauer stuff I have is brushed except some of the older corded stuff (which has replaceable brushes)
