Morning All. :D
Oh dear, I must stop feeding that cat. We have had multiple 🐱 💩🐱💩 this morning. :(
Kitchen and Utility room have a somewhat fetid smell, I always get the cleanup duty (being 1st up in our house). :(
Still, it is a lovely warm Spring day, the birds are singing and all's right with the world. :)
Day 3 and the neighbours package is still here. :(
Have a lovely Day! :D

Yep, just do it, you'll be amazed at how little it takes to fill them. I once found a calculation online as to how much rain has to fall for you to get so many litres per minute, it ain't much. Which is why we have never ever even in a drought got to the bottom of our suge watter tank.
Problem is me roof water runs into a bucket fing that receives me baff water anorl. So eye need to by pass this wiv a new bit of down pipe so the filter is lower down and easier to get to. Garage is 8 foot away from this. Butts are at the other end of the garage. Eye can plumb a bit of pipe over to the garage guttering but eye want a pipe on the last water butt to run the excess water back, in case eye miss judge the rain so they overflow into what is already quite a wet garden. Pipe would need to run across the slabs which ain't good unless eye use a temp hose pipe. Its what eye do occasionally to empty them.

As you may remember I have been having serious problems with the water company and their very high pressure main which feeds directly into my property - it is almost a year now since they were supposed to be fitting a pressure reducing valve on the mains feed OUTSIDE my property and they have yet to do it. Until that is done I am not prepared to do anything on my side of the inlet feed. Water coming in at between 8 and 10 bps (?) is a lot of gushing water - I have had two husepipes burst in the garden!!

Blimey if that’s bar ur talking about that’s some 160 Psi , Christ , fingers crossed they pull there finger out and sort it out for u

Wonder if u could get a plumber to fit it for u seeinf it’s such a straight forward job and then send them the bill

Blandford itself has a bypass so traffic isn't bad, and although the steam fair does take a lot of people, in September, it doesn;'t impinge too much, we used to go every year but it got too samey and one year there was a massive ruckus.

Read this to find out why the Fair is not running and sadly may never run again. It is all down to costs.

Blimey I’m not surprised as indeed there eye watering costs

They useto do some steam fares down in Kent and found year after year it got less and less so stopped going

Must confess one of the main reasons I went was for the tool stalls, lol

Oh mate I don’t know what to say , that would be amazing a massive , massive thank u to your good self and ur beloved

Ahhh bless that would be gorgeous to be round dogs again as my god I miss candy , will get another dog but thinking of it would be best to wait until I’ve moved , once settled I’ll then have all the time to train it and by waiting iill just have myself to worry about and not the extra worry of a puppy

Can’t believe how lucky I am to have such wonderful mates , so that’s a great plan, clear the house , save enough money and then move, will more than likely get my stuff moved into storage , as then it makes life a lot easier being out of one place so I can then move very quickly

Ideal with it being winter as the roads will be emptier plus seeing places as they normally are

Indeed hope to find a village or very remote place

Don’t mind admitting am bought to tears with such kindness , thk u so much from the bottom of my heart to u and ur beloved that takes a huge obstacle out of the way , you’ve seriously made me year as I can’t wait till I’m finally ready to move and make a 50+ year dream come true
We are thinking that it would not be a good idea to clear your house out at all until you find a new place to stay, but it would help you to be able to come down, every now and then, when you have a group of properties to look at.
Then once you have found one, settled all the paperwork and can move in, there would be no need for storage at all, just get a moving company to shift your stuff from where you are into the new place.
But be aware that unfurnished places in your price range may still be very hard to find. We do wish you all the luck, but it may have to be North Dorset as most other places will be beyond many people's pockets. And sadly what @Hippo says about renting is totally true.
So just to be clear, we'd be willing to have you stay for short periods of time, so you can visit groups of properties, but not much longer than a few days at a time. We aren't looking for a lodger. Sorry if you got the wrong end of the stick.

Do they refuse to use a litter tray?

Eye has been to the steam fare once. Its a nice area but google says its one of the most expensive places to buy and rent. So yer costs to live are going to go up.

When yer move from local authority housing to private renting, yer opening yerself up to the perils of private renting. Expect to be moved on at some point with not much notice. Expect price renewals to reflect market rate. You will be renting from an invester, running a business.

If yer live in yer car you will technically be homeless. That may cause problems. Peeps may refuse renting to you because of this. Also if yer not in work then some will be nervous of renting to you.

You face a difficult decision. I'm not convinced its financially possible to run a big expensive car, and move. You won't want to hear this but making yer motoring costs cheaper is somefink yer need to consider.

I appreciate this post ain't what yer want to hear. But eye is concerned yer budget is too tight for future rent rises and the increase in the cost of living coming soon, which we won't be able to avoid.

Many thks and the feedback is apprenticed with some good points

Indeed understand that employment may be an issue with some landlords , have spoken to some letting agents where they advised me some will accept it others won’t , same with some allowing or not allowing a dog

Have thought about that if the rent gets more and more each year , if that happens will have to re consider about my D3 and it’s running costs , at the moment I’ve been very fortunate of other helping me with big jobs , alas will have to cross that bridge if it comes to it

Thks again

Get that but I'm sure you'll be able to work summat out!;)
Our water butts were connected up to the down pipe so that when it got full it went back into the down pipe or rather never came out of th down pipe, it was avery simple arrangement,l no filter nor nuffin. Our underground tank has an overflow pipe that takes it and joins witht he overflow from the septic tank. Which would be another way of doing it. Piping it back to the main surface water drain.

No not at all as indeed it would only be for a few days and not weeks as wouldn’t wish to overstay my welcome and fully understand , it’s a fantastic help and am very grateful my friend

Great that I’ve spoken about it here as it’s nice to get great feedback and agree in what @Hippo also mentions

Think that’s also a good point of waiting until I find a few places to have a look at whilst keeping my place which won’t costs anything in storage costs

I’m so very grateful as it’s given me better decisions of moving but sensibility and not being too quick off the mark so to speak in giving my current place up until I find another one

Thks again for the massive help

Eye took ma hippo for a drive yesdi to empty his dpf. It were on 22.8. Will regenerate at 22.3 and above automatically if conditions allow. He had 65 miles of fool left so eye bort him 80 sovs of diesel. Went to bnq to check the wood pile. Lots ovvit. Then dunelm to get a nooker cloth. This be a cheap build to see if the wood bends when used assa nooker table. So eye bort a flat cotton sheet as the cloth. Will see how that goes and if the mdf needs strengthened.

Petrol FL2 is a 3.2L i6. They stopped making them in 2009 for uk market. Not many about. It is a volvo engine. Diesels are more economical. TD4 and SD4. SD4 having more power than the TD4. SD4 has the same 0 to 60mph time as the i6, but much betterer fool efficency during normal driving. The diesel is a Peugeot DW12 engine. 2.2L. Not to be confused with the TDV6 crank snapper.

Me small windswept rock has run out of petrol till Monday 🤔. The great institution that is calmac doesn’t has any space on a bo@t till Monday. 🤷‍♂️. All the boats are fooked again and there was a cattle sale today, so 7 cattle trucks were needed. Calmac told the auction company to cancel till another day. The auctions are arranged 6 months in advance so they complained a bit. A local haulier agreed to not take any loads in or out today so the sale can go ahead. The joys of a crap company running the ferries without having to attempt to run them well 😡🤬🤯

Absolutely.
If you are living in a council place or some form of housing association, and are looking to move into the private rented sector that is a massive step which will cost you a load more financially, will be far more precarious and, I would imagine, be pretty much irreversible. It would be easier if you were in a couple or had a family but not much.
On the local "Nextdoor" website there are always people moaning on about how awful their landlords are and I personally would be very wary of moving into that sector. Inland things may be a bit different but near the coast and /or universities there is always the competition of holiday and student lets which pushes prices up like mad.
When we sold our place in Poole that we had rented out for a number of years, the last tenant told us that this twas the third time it had happened to him, so three places in three years. (We had to sell to finance the build here.)
I think what I am really saying is, think long and hard before burning your bridges.
