....well today had its ups and downs.
It was the day of the biggest shop of the year. So started in the market, with the cheeseman, who with his partner were ever so pleased to see us back, so all good there.
Then off to buy veg, croissants, veg plants for the veg plot and poly tunnel.
Then off to the butcher who was pleased to see us again, lots of dosh spent there on his fabbo meat, well we won't be back there for a month. Off to Castres for lunch yet again "so nice to see you back!" the lovely warm feeling we get when that happens, nothing like the blank looks we would get if we ever patronised the same sort of place in the UK. Post office to buy stamps, it refused my Halifax card and W's John Lewis card but accepted one of her debit cards. Having just used the card twice before.
Then off to the first food shop, bio special place for W's gluten free nosh. Card OK there.
By the time we get to the car I am, yet again, breaking my neck for a waz, why do I never remember to go in the brasserie?, and the flipping Disco won't let me in the back. (It's been doing this a bit recently.) So waggleing the handle, no use, plip it on off on off on, and in frustration and to try and shock it free I hit the top of the lock/handle housing, number plate and number plate light thingy.
It breaks.:eek:. Not completely, but enough to really bother me, with a capital p and o. So there is a hole and a crack on the top.:(:(:(
As least the flipping thing then opened.
So off to Auchan. Both of us awa frae a purtle. Back to the shopping, two trollies, Monumental bill, but got the stuff. (Card accepted again!)
On the road back the ACE warning light came on.
It did this while towing on the way down and I put it down to my having recently fitted an anti-snake device, but it always went away when not towing, until now? Hmmm!. went off after we stopped at Leclerc and didn't come back on despite a spirited drive up the steep and twisty drive up the mountain.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Ho hum!
Took ages to put it all away, nearly 1 1/2 hours, but dogs fed and nice log fire built. Gaffa taped over the hole in plastic on the Disco, but it ain't easy to put it on in the rain.
Been raining a lot today and is forecast for the rest of the next 7 days. AND it was cold and windy.
So hope you lot had a good day.
See you tomoz.

Maybe your disco is protesting about its enforced stay in France being a true spirit of Britishness. Us true Brits still havent forgiven them for the Norman conquest, Napoleon and Sacha Distel

Today's offering...
a rather mystifying leak around the downstairs bog.:(
Why am I always doing more maintenance over here in a 19 yr old house than in Britland in a 41 year old place?:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Mind you the acid water was at the bottom of the last problem with the bogs here.

Off ot the hairdressers this p.m. for W. I will sit there and read while she gets "done". At least they are good and cheap. Just like the vets!
(Well in one way!!)
Why me?
In case they need to discuss anything with her.;)

Have a lovely day peeps!

On that list I would remove Napoleon as he didn't invade, but add De Gaulle, for being a total, ungrateful and using/manipulative !£$&.
Slasher Distillery? Meh! Can't say I'm bovvad.:D:D:D:D

Morning All. :D
My turn for a lie-in today, hence my tardiness on parade. :)
Son's wife is getting nasty in the divorce. Like I said she would.
Now wanting the house immediately sold.
Can't help him really, its his mess not mine.
Have a good day. :D
Mornin matey!

My advice, and I wish I had thought of it at the time it was happening to me, would be to say "OK" and auction the house, and thus buy it back, cheap. She'd get half the reduced equity and with luck he could still pay the mortgage, on his "new " place.
This might be tricky legally but I don't see why it couldn't be done, even if it involved a third party.
He is in the same situation as I was i.e. in a house price falling market. Only in my case my ex simply refused to believe the value had dropped as much as it did, so we stuck with it advertised for far too much and I happily lived in it for the two years until she came to her senses and I gave her the equivalent of half of the equity, in fact a bit more. Cost me an arm and a leg and a 100% mortgage, but I hung on, with W as she wasn't then, helping out.
Looks like solicitors will now be involved then no one will win, except them, the shysters.:mad::mad:
Can't help but feel sorry for him.:(:(:(:(

Was inevitable wasnt it..
You wouldn't believe the antics herself's ex went into to be able to force the sale of their house. Her daughter ended up referring herself for fostering!
Hope he can keep his chin up, be sensible and not get sucked into any dramas..
All the best.

Cheers TT.
I am not looking forward to the prospect of having long-term "house-guests". :(
