Having taken Wifey to get her jab, cos her car wouldn't start:rolleyes:
I am now going to shut everything down except for the internet to get onto Norton and get them to do as you suggested before, i.e. to drive my computer remotely, and see what the4y can do.
I have already printed off all my passwords, in case the worst comes to the worse.
so Off we go, sh!t or bust/

Short answer is, no I don't think so, but I have just finished a session with Harsh Gupta from norton where he took over my pooter and played around with it for about an hour and a half.
It involved at least 4 reboots.
He tried what I had tried, including a remove and reinstall which didn't work. so he had to dig in deep to completely remove all Norton stuff from all over the place, then he was able to install it and update it.
so a big thank you to yourself and @Hippo for all your advice and support!

on mine when it boots up you get a stupid thing with a ton of useless icons on it that makes it look like a bloody phone, but if you click on the "desktop" icon, bottom left, it looks like something you can really use.
So i do this all the time.
Maybe this is what Shimmy meant?!

Wifey's car wouldn't fecking start, again. It's always OK when it is run regularly but summat is taking more ampy things than it should. Maybe it's her DAT radio, (Is that the term) so volts down to 11.9 when i put in on charge. so drove her to the jab station in my slippers, oh and a few clothes too.:(
God my Disco is wet inside.:(:(:(:(
fink I might have to get a cover for it!:(
