Nasty, dangerous work. Specially for those at the chemical end.
Please pass on my heartfelt thanks and respect.

My grandad was a Blacksmith in Pompey docks, seems he spent most of his time nicking stuff ( is only hearsay, nobody saw anyfink, there's no evidence, you can't prove anyfink). :p

She's read this and says "thankyou" ;)

Very clever Lady she is.. ;)

Wisest of us all too ;)

well being over 100 does have it's benefits!! ;)

Sorry, but couldn't help doing your second phrase as Yoda in my head. :D
The Lady's age gives me some hope though, makes me mathematically middle aged again:rolleyes:

Aye she remembers being 53....

In 1969 :eek::D

U is still a whippershapper compared to her...

come to think of it..

everyone is!!! ;)

Now there's a bit of context.. She was my age when I was two!
What an archive of the last century you have there.. My grandparents had tanks parked up their street before D-Day, my dad was passed around the crews by his older brothers hoping to scam chocolate or fags. My mum's dad was RN and survived two sinkings.. Young and stupid I missed the chance to talk to them about it.
Now all I do is watch war stuff on Yesterday..

Aye does add context lol!
Funny watching History documentaries, and having a voice come up from her knitting and say "i remember that" lol ;)

My Great Grand Father unfortunately passed on in 1994 at 85 so i never met him, though i'm told he is where i get my height and build from, aswell as my brother.

A 6"9 WW2 veteran.. ;)

A giant of a man, dwarfed all ;)

Wise and scary in equal measure i'm told!!

How weird is this: Yesterday I was thinking I need a bit of lay flat hose to divert a rainwater down pipe while I investigate a blockage underground. Only thinking, no searching online or anything. And today I get a mail shot in me email inbox from amazon, for lay flat hose. They musta put cookies in me head? And I gotta mail shot about funerals, ain't been thinking about that yet either.
