I joined the RAC in 1974. Last year at renewal time I phoned them up and said they gotten too silly with the renewal premium and could get it much cheaper if I joined the AA. They knocked a nundred off and said they would keep it the same at next renewal as well. Only regret is I could have paid £50 when I joined as a lifetime member. No more premiums to pay ever. But that was serious money back then an I dint havvit.
