Done well, I'll have to try that, maybe just 12 hours to start :p
TBH it wasn't as much of an ordeal as I had thought it would be.
The "habitual" larder and fridge trips were stopped when my hand touched the door-handle and I had a glass of water instead.
All coffee was taken "black" and tea was of the fruit variety.
Now I just need to stay away from/limit carbohydrate intake and leave biscuits and peanuts well alone. :)
From 18 to 31 I weighed 10St - 7Lbs (147#) I really need to get back near that weight if at all possible because 209# is 62# of flab.
That's like carrying a 56# sack of cement around all day.

I was 11 stone right through till I got in my 50's
I didn't slow down workwise but started to put a bit of weight on
Late sixties and early seventies I stayed reasonably trim but couldn't get any less than 13 stone
Now at seventy seven I'm still 13 stone but weight has moved to my waistline and I cant shift it, says he sucking on a Quality Street :p :p

In a desk in the other country I have a diary given to my ma by a drugs rep back in the 60s.
No one talked about BMI in those days, but it contained all sorts of useful medical infor, among which were height and weight tables for men and women. So it' s nowt new, just has been given a trnedy new name.

Yet more awful storms including big hail in parts of France including the Loire Valley.
Price of Pouilly-fumé will be on the rise.

:(:(:(:(:(

The world's weather seems to have gone mad.
I think we were all expecting changes with global warming but I don't think we expected them to be so off the wall and to come so quickly.
I think many of us thought things would remain just the same except a bit hotter. we (W and I) did. :(
Ignoranc isn't being very blissful at the moment.

We may have discussed this on the Forum ...

It's the heightened frequency of occurrence of more extreme weather events ... also known as, Climate Change ...

It probably is, but nevertheless although we all knew about this sort of thing in theory I, and a lot of others, are only really becoming aware of it when it happens, and at that, close to home.

I read up on a lot of stuff but haven't bothered about climate change as we both feel (W and I) that whatever happens we can't change it, all we can do is endure it and make plans for it, if it gets much worse.
Already things have changed in that we once used to be able to count on certain things most summers and now we just can't. For instance being able to use the pool fairly steadily.
So we are countering that by looking at fitting solar heating.
Not a problem many would sympathise with but one that can be clearly explained. The rain cools it down, even with the cover on, so what was once swimmable suddenly becomes not. And this alternates a lot, far more than it used to. We have also put a bubble wrap type cover on as well.

This area has beeen prone to hailstorms with really big hailstones for a long while, they used to be quite rare, But they are now more frequent.

You can change it, if everyone did a little more to protect the small rock that we all call home, we'll be able to exist on it for a little longer ...

I think many of us are doing their bit, whether because the law means you have to, or because they feel the urge to.
We do more over here by having all water solar heated, only internal heating being electric apart from burning logs in a very high efficiency stove. And very little of that. One stere lasts us about 3 years.
We also collect roof water to use for watering the veg and fruit we grow. We use our cars as little as possible but living out in the sticks we cannot not, as neither of us is up to cycling, especially W as she has a paralysed foot, and we live 360 metres above the nearest town. We use her more economical, and cleaner, car as much as possible.
We recycle what we can, enforced over here by law anyway,

Cannot be assed to "virtue signal" anymore!
I'm sure we are all doing what we can. ;)

Just about to go out.
Monthly big shop and meal in our fave Brasserie in Castres.
Then heading Auchanwards.
Have a lovely day all!!
