I would just like to say

Morning all!
Very wet down here.
Don't normally care about this but I cannot open "facebook" (Ws account) on my pooter. There is some scammy thing calling itself "meta" trying to get me to do stuff that obvs I don't want. I have Norton running and just did a scan but that doesn't seem to have helped.
I only want to do this to be able to help someone with a LR problem.

I am sure W will be able to open it on her Apple thing. But she isn't here and wouln't be bothered anyway so that approach is no good.
I can never remember how to open my own account as whenever I put "Facebook" into google it automatically comes up with W's account. she doesn't mind me using it as long as i don't go too far. And I can open mine by getting hers up first but obvs i can't even do that.
Does anyone know about this and have a workaround? I would be very grateful.

I have discovered that, but doing research shows that meta is being cloned and used for this scam.
What has been your experience? i.e. have you ever tried to log onto Facebook and found you can't unless you sign up to pay for no ads, or else, if you agree to go with no sub, but ads, you still cannot go any further and eventually agree to soemthing in order to get facebook to open?

I don't have Facebook but that certainly seems like a scam!

Definitely a scam and doing who knows what else. I would suggest at the very least you do a boot time scan, ie. before the operating system is started

Norton is currently running a full scan which of course takes time, it's about 2/3 done. i have googled how to run a boot scan with Norton and nothing it suggests I do would work as the things it tells me to click on just ain't there.

As soon as all this came up I made Norton do a normal scan; "smart" or "fast" or whatever they call it but I cannot see the name of right now.

So far the full scan has found and resolved one issue, I'll wait until it has finished.then try everything again.
I did try to get help from Norton but their webwsite is poop and trying to communicate with it just left me with a blank google screen.
But thanks for your help, I'll certainly click on this once I've done the above.

Stripping wallpaper from ceilings today. Twenty foot straight drop to the entrance hall. Prolly should've had someone else around just in case.

Phew, just got locked out of LZ for a minute too!
I am now locked out of Nextdoor. this has happened before, so they "know" me maybe they'll sort it.
(Some bright spark on Nextdoor suggested "clear cookies" so I cleared my whole history, that just beggared things even further, which it has never done before.

Not having a good day!
anyway all the stuff I am trying to do ain't working, and I have other more urgent stuff to do as we have visioters coming at the weekend so I need to get a oparticular job to a point where my s-i-l can help with summat I can't do on my own.
So flipping FB will have to wait.

Feel for you mate!
Weirdly this is one job I left to someone else as our place in France is almost exactly the same except that where your landing continues to the top of the stairs, our downward stair starts at the rail, goes straight for a bit then turns in a bit of a spiral before straightening for the last few steps. 5 metre drop above spiral steps. no than you!
Could you not put a ladder up against the window wall, next to the window and then a plank across from that to the rail?
Don't tell me that would mean you couldn't reach up to the ceiling!!!!!!

.....that I am now bak on Faceache. There was a screen that I couldn't slide downwards before but I nopw can so did it, agreed and off we go!

Cheers Stan. I did have a ladder against the relevant walls with a board to the rail or a trellis to work around he edges. That affair was to get to the very center. All done in now.

Well done.
You are one of the people I am jealous of.
I have spent most of the day trying to make templates for a work top I am trying to fix. Bt the time I have worked my way from one end to the other and marked around a piece of trunking, the end cut, if I were to make it seems impossibly angled from the front to the back.
you do more in one day than I could do in a fortnight.
Hats off to you.

I must have measured each angle and each length 10 times.

I managed to unlock the 9 yr old in me just long enough to get me back into Facebook, and on LZ.
But Nextdoor is still trying to open my disabled account and won't go back to the normal one.
Eventually they will wake up in the US of A and perhaps fix it, again.
