Resin ones are good lots of colours and you can use it in the wet
I had a quick look at the resin ones & I dont think the sand would work with the hosing constantly id probably wash it all away.

I always do them Dan's way. Seen too many slabs with disintegrated joint filling. Use damp sharp sand n cement 3:1, but not wet, and use a small wet dish washing sponge (scrubber on one side) to clean the edges of the slabs before the cement dries.

Sounds good.
We couldn't do that as the lads laid them right up to one another, almost no gap at all. We thought it'd be OK, knowing naff all about it at the time. We just left them to it. (SIL and his mate who do a lot of landscaping for peeps.)
Then the weeds started! They can grow through a gap you can't even get a knife blade into.
and of course they have 6 months to grow before we can get to them.

Very good job done!
In France a drop off a patio of up to 90cms is OK, but in the UK I think it's a lot lower. 30 cms it appears.

Makes some interesting points but misses one thing which is that a DW NEEDS the stuff on the plates to act as a slight abrasive to ensure it can do its job.
The Frog couple who are coming to stay, the bloke always rinses stuff so much his wife once emptied it thinking it had done a cycle!
We never rinse, never have done. All we do is scrape excess fat off.
