A pleasant early afternoon with a BBQ for my Family.
For once, I sat in the background and contributed the venue and nothing else.
4 grand-kids 6..11 and they are so noisy. Lots of squeals, rough & tumble & tears.
All passed off OK though and peace reigns once again at castle Clarke.
Except we are playing the Album "Dire Straits" by the same, and enjoying being on our own and reminiscing our 20's. :)
Can't beat it. I am so lucky! :D

It is an adjustable resistor box for experimenting on circuits :) real old school equipment :D

We got a cheap kit like that for the stable, the horse had lights when we didnt:oops: (before we got solar).
Worked very well, wont power much drainey stuff but will keep the lights on. Flexi panel too things have moved on and for not much money now. going camping soon with your new trailer anytime soon?
Or are you classing it as the new dog house:D.

J

It was only for 12v led lights & to top up a leisure battery which runs a 1000w invertor if I need it for fings ??
probable test it with charging a dewlt battery. For 15 quid each cant complain I will invest in a flexi panel my
dad has one with his camper n it chucks out nearly 14v when its cloudy.
Yer new trailer will be called the dog house haha hoping to go somewhere soon & try it out.
Going to treat it to some fabseal.

They're getting much better at extracting energy from the light on cloudy days. My kit struggles to get much on dull days in December and January, but those are the only months when I need to use the generator.

Id quite like to add solar into my house/separate garage when I get it built. I know nuffing of solar so homework will be needed.

It's not too hard - I just bought a kit off the internet. There's even little plus and minus signs embossed on all the components so you've got to work quite hard to get it wrong. It's probably easier to fit to a shed as you can build it so you've got a sloping roof facing south, and it's less critical putting bolts and screws through it than on your house. Plus sheds don't have so many dormer windows, chimneys and soil pipe vents to get in the way as a rule.

I've been pretty pleased with my solar system. It feels good being able to scavenge your power out of the daylight.
