Just checked W's car for oil, didn't need topping up as I had overfilled it slightly.:rolleyes:
It is so hard to see as the oil is exactly the same colour as the dipstick. Ended up cleaning it off then progressively putting it into the tube until I could be sure of where the level was. So, it means more oil will be cooling as it runs. ;)

I think if I ever looked at buying a car and found it didn't have a dipstick, I'd just walk away from it. I could never trust any electric gismo to tell me something so vital.:rolleyes:
Plus oil on a dipstick tells you more than just the level.
Or does the feckin electric gismo do that too?:rolleyes:

Brother had an Audi with a black dipstick
I used to place stick on a tissue to show where oil was on stick
