As I predicted from day 1, the strumpet is now refusing to move out, even though she has signed up for a rented flat of her own (with my lad as guarantor).
She's realising how hard her life is going to be without him to boss around and do all the raising of the kids and paying of her bills.
This is going to be a real slo-mo car-crash. :(

Dull today, stuck indoors waiting for yet another delivery although i have hung a sign on the gate "Hoot, please, we are at the bottom of the garden.
Re yesterday's kefuffle, the seller has apologised profusely although it isn't their fault and are offering to refund the transport cost with some sort of code?o_O:confused:
It's only €6.95 so we're not that bothered, especially if we do eventually get it. It is more the wasted time. Once I pick it up and get to look at how the address was written or printed out, I'll have more of an idea, but nice of them to offer.
Went to the "producers market" in Mazamet last evening. Great fun, saw some old friends, and were introduced to new ones. Some came a long way which shows it really is a fun event. Bought our usual "caillé" made from ewe's milk, we've never been able to find it elsewhere. Bought some wine and had a small meal, very convivial.
Not a terrific pic as it doesn't show the scale well. (I didn't take it it's off their website)

But the stalls go down both sides of the "place" and off to the sides of that, as do the tables and benches.
Met the mayor again, as he shook my hand he joked and said "we seem inseparable". He is very skilled at pressing the flesh at being "there" at all the right times but he does get stuff done, he's put the place on the map and is 1000 times better than the previous lazy git! At one time we feared that it would go the way many one industry places go once the industry has died its natural death. But instead he has created an aerial walkway from the town to the medieval village and doe stuff to get it on mainstream TV so tourism is booming relatively and people are buying houses, very quickly. A couple who bought recently in our village did it in an afternoon, which is meteoric in French terms!
Have a nice day folks.
:):):)

Morning all ...

Jeez I'm tired ...

Son-in-Law was very late home last night due to the trains running out of electricity between Swanscombe and Rochester ...

and driving back I found they'd closed the A2 completely at Ebbsfleet and sent us on a tour of the lanes of Kent .........

Got home at 10:30 ...

Not surprised you are tired if you are up at 0435, that's not early, it's late the previous night!;)

If you can get the stinkhorn fungus (phallus impudicus - yes it really is called that) to grow, it should do the trick. It thrives in many parts of Europe and grows in decaying woodland debris like rotting leaves and twigs. It's suggestively shaped and makes an unpleasant smell to attract insects to help spread the spores. So it would be a good idea to provide any plants near the boundary with a thick layer of much made from offcuts from elsewhere on the property and let nature take its course.

I occassionally get one of those coming up in my 'rubbish' corner and can vouch for its repulsive smell.

Well, France in your case.

That should have said 'mulch' rather than 'much' in my earlier post.
I gathered as mulch!
and we are only here on holiday, rumour has it! I'll let you know when that starts.
As for the stinkhorn smelly dick, we have shed loads of twigs leaves etc etc, we pile them up next to our shed on their boundary, so loads of rotting stuff. We are not allowed to burn here and there is far too much to simply put in the Disco and cart doon the toon to the dump. So as there is no smell as yet i have to assume that the spores don't pop up much around here. Which may be a good thing but i am beginning to think we may b-need to get some!:D:D:D

And get a hedge hog to move in - they is funky! At least the one we had in the garden in Brittany was... View attachment 268792
We had one for al.ong time living under W's kit car on the front of the house. The car was extensively tarped off, he/she grew to be huge but cannot say it smelt at all.
