.....that work is finished for the day. All water pipes sealed , sink out , taps, copper pipe, fittings and sink-to-worktop clamps reclaimed.
It's obvious that a lot of the pipework had been there since the house was built in 1983 odd. Found bits of string in with joints and stuff. Things I'd never do! I thort when I revamped the kitchen a coupla decades ago I had changed more than I had.
Anyway perfectly good, (well, worn), sink and a pair of lever arm taps going begging now.
Wifey cooking home made fancy chicken and mushroom pie.
Yummy yummy!!!
G & T slipping down a treat..
Let the weekend commence!
:):):):):)

I am thinking of getting a 2000 plate TD5 Disco. At £4k I think it's a bit over priced but looks immaculate on the outside. I know they rust badly and hide issues, anyone in Lincolnshire fancy a trip out to have a look at it with me :D
My God mine's gone up in value then. I only paid about £1750 for mine!! (2014)
Look at the rear chassis.
There is a thread on exactly this up at the mo.

Is it W408? if so, take a good look at chassis and body corrosion, MOT history is not good and probably been patched up over the last few years.

Evening all…
Thought I could relax the weekend….
Nope I have an 8hrs of course work on a Saturday. Well they have to pay you to go as it’s work related.
Oh well.. 1 less day to read the forum

Not liking it cos you is 'working', but as you is getting paid for it ...

Stay safe wiv the wevver oot there ...

Right first thing to do is check or replace the ball valve in the tank if that is not filling the tank quick enough the level will go down to the connections and it will suck air in and cause an air lock which is why you have to back fill ( i usually hold hand over the end of the mixer tap and turn both sides on, or use a length of hose over the ends of single taps)
if you want valves in the system you can plug the tank out lets with a bung its cheaper and a lot quicker and less stressful than trying to freeze the pipes

but the plugs will not work if the tankcons have luggs on the inside at which point as you have the mains water of to sort the ballvalve just drain the tank and fit the valves
hope this helps any more questions just ask away:)

Ta much pal as its fine atm I aint crawing in the sea of inchy wool in my loft this weekend but when the cold water is running I can hear it quite loud filling up the tank iirc it didnt always do that.
