A most pleasant week-end looking after our friends' pile again. Being away from home means we don't feel obliged to 'do something' and the garden is large so Fuzzybutt and her 'nephew' (DIL's mutt) Fluffybollix get to charge about and wear each other out.
Nice food, nice drinkies, lots of rest.

Just in time for tomorrow

Well dint do a lot today cos it is Sunday, our one day off.
But I did take an Art Deco clock wot we bought years ago and had lyin on a shelf in a room for years.
Took it down gave it a bit of an external clean set it up on a coupla blocks of wood (cos it's a wall clock but we didn't know if it'd work or not) and wound it up.
Bought for a tenner at an auction. even had the original French instructions in it!
Anyway, it works and it bongs exactly as it should do!
Result!

The style of the wood front is a bit meh, altho totally typical of the period, but the rest of it is brill, keeps good time an all.
The Pirouett lamp on the right was also a bargain pressy for Wifey, totally Art Deco, and we (I) got it at at a brill price, about 1/8 of what we (I) should have paid.

I paid about €120 for it!
AND it's got the correct coloured lenses unlike the one here wiv the blue ones.
Oh and as you've prolly guessed, we love proper, original, in full working order, oil lamps. We actually keep em ready for power cuts and for atmos if we feel so inclined.

I only took a few to send to a mate as he wanted to see the suspension set up, thats a few days
getting the lights sorted now all working waiting on led repeaters to finish them off.
Then I need to move to the rest of the electrics nowt seams to work.
I will strip most of it off & sand blast & make it shinny again.

...bought a Mk1 Jag once for £5, (1974) It drove but the engine sounded like a bag of bolts, it was only a 2.4 and the clutch was slipping.
sold it to a scrappy for £10, result ! (I thought then.)
