I have kept the same 14 pounder for several decades and its still working. But the shaft has got shorter as the years roll by, each time the head falls off when the shaft wears through it has to be shortened and re-fitted.
Sadly, the sledge' in question is a fibreglass moulded-in handle, so the re-attachment isn't quite so easy.
I may drill the handle out and see if an ash handle can be attached, but looking at the hole in the head, it may not be possible. :(

Same sort of thing happened with Wifey's mother. Her brother fooled the lawyer.:mad:But I did hear of a case in her ex's family where some of them were so renowned for it that kind his will the deceased ensured the locks were changed and all his stuff was auctioned off. The family had to bid along with everyone else. All proceeds etc went into a pot and was divied up among his nephews and nieces!!!

Morning All :D
Not raining here and warm enough to be out without a jacket. :)
Got her paper, put the refuse sacks out for collection.
Gas goes off today they say....we shall see.
A visit to screwfix is required, the head is coming off the sledgehammer I lent the boy so I have ordered a new one.
Have a terrific day everyone. :)
Can't chew jerst gert er noo andel?

Today I have fitted guttering on both sides of the mini-barn. :)
Now its not like I would normally want to fit guttering as it has had to follow the restrictions imposed for the original conservatory.
This means it has no "fall" end to end, but if I fill it up, it does drain to a minimal level (just like the original conservatory gutters). :(
It provides somewhere for small birds to bath at least. :)
I ran out of 45-degree connectors for the second side. I am trying to keep the narrow side-alleyway clear for wheelbarrows, bikes etc.
I have to bring the outlet around to the front face of the mini-barn and mount the down-pipe there.

At least it has not rained on me today. :D
