Remined me of when we were driving to Portsmouth to catch the ferry to our French place. the trailer, you've seen the pics, packed to the gills with a new kitchen and lord knows what.
A wooden bar on the right hand inside wall of the trailer broke and the load slipped rearward, so it instantly went into fishtailing, luckily on a dual carriageway, but i had some prick in the outside lane just a bit behind me hooting at me as i fought to regain control. He would n't pass me or back far enough off to be out of danger if we went over.

Anyway no more than 50 to the ferry and once over the watter we pulled into a layby for me to investigate, which is when i struggled to get it open as it has a roller blind rear door.
Strengthened the whole thing since then, obvs! And it had been the second trip!
Losing it is bad enough but with a trailer, no fun at all.
Bet you have a few rums!:D:D:D

With that kind of dosh does he still do work in his extremely expensive garage?
mind if i had the dosh and the space i'd prolly spend that sort on a garage for myself.
Have the space in frogland but Brexit is making it so fucking hard to get over there for as long as we want. i am no longer sure about building what the French call a "hangar" (Barn type garage)

Not sure about his work as he doesnt talk about it an he's always away out when I pass his place.
The garage is masoove with a gym ect upstairs tis very impressive.

I meant does he do Car work in his super-duper garage, like what we do? Or is it just a very posh garage to house very posh cars?
Once knew a boat designer and builder. he had a house like a Swiss chalet in Sandbanks, multimillionaires row on a peninsula across the mouth of Poole Harbour.
He also had a barn built in the same style in which he kept his caravan, his cars including the kit car he built, which is how I met him, and boats. Was I jealous!
He designed and built smallish but hugely high spec boats, which was all very well except to make money on them was difficult, as they cost nearly as much as a much bigger boat. But they were gorgeous, you'd a liked him.

the boats went on as Tradewind I think, But the article states the ridiculous price for a 35 footer. $500,000!
He might even still be alive, dunno, lost touch, I knew him round about 1989/90

How much :eek: if had that kind of dosh I still wouldnt buy one after working on them for years o_O

Good mate of mine, big rugby prop forward, ended up president of his Oxford college rugby club, (hard to imagine him doing both I know but then I played rugby and I was playing the trumpet!)
This other lad looked a right prat, just sitting there holding this cello upright, and looking scared of dropping it! :D:D:D
(He played the bassoon, badly!)

Tis a bit of a shock isn't it!!!!
But then he did tell me how long he spent just fitting a door once.
Once heard of an arab who ordered a really plush yacht, as you do.
He wanted sheets of green marble in the huge bathroom.
They worked out the only way of getting them aboard was to cut slots in the deck, lower them through, then weld plates back in again.:eek::eek::eek:
So that's what they did.:rolleyes:
