What with all the windy up there I'm surprised that you haven't got windy mills all over the place.We have a submarine cable from the mainland to Jura then across to us. Every few years either lightening or a clam bo*at destroys it and they have to be made in the Far East or somewhere like that and usually takes 3+ months to make, then they need to get the cable laying boat over and calm weather to lay it. It never makes the news either but then we have our own power station that keeps us going.
Apparently it’s quite economical too as it only burns 21000 litres of diesel a day
