We lost a couple of trees around here and the local stream has burst it banks.

when a tree comes down in the village it gets chopped up and shared around. The last time 1 came down right next to our fence they left us a pile of Oak inside the rear gate:) The Oak was tough as old boots and grey. I had to chop the stuff:oops: it was ard:eek: but free.

Yes agree about the poor sods that get flooded specially this time of year. But................... they weren't once called flood plains for no reason before the builders got hold of them;). I also suspect river/ditch management has not had much spent on it recently.

Never seen a poor farmer either, they all have mega swanky tractors round err
And 'ere! Together with a multitude of other expensive equipment, and they are forever buying up more land as it becomes available within close proximity to their existing domains.
AND, all the machinery has to be in matching colours!!!!!!

I always laugh at the (mostly) farmers who can't wait to get down to the rivers to rescue the trees that come floating down! Anyone would think they are short of cash to pay to heat their houses. :);)

I think farmers make Yorkshire blokes look benevolent, however, a Yorkshire farmer has a vice like grip on his white fivers.
