Was up early so I could drop me car in to the local indy so it unfortunately means I've arrived at the office too early.
Nevermind, it gives me a chance to browse LZ before the student arrives

Clear skies at the moment with hardly a breeze but it's due to get windy later and with the air temperature as low as it is it's going to feel a bit chilli

Window-fitters pitched-up well early.
I was only just out of bed myself and she was still asleep.
I reckon they should be finished today. Hooray!
Its all looking quite nice so far.
They are worried about the weather and have erected a "shelter" to work under outside.

I had originally planned on retiring in October but selling my house and moving North was part of the plan.
That is a little difficult atm. A chunk of redundancy money would mean I could prepare for moving next year
So I could be helpful and happy all in one go

Scaffolding is down. And cleaned the outside of the loft window on me way down, probably the first time its ever been cleaned as its so inaccessible. Bacon butties nearly scoffed.

Where North?
We looked at and are still looking at the Dales or soemwhere near, like Richmond. Love it up there and would mean moving back to the county of my birth where I feel happy and at home, not that I ain't happy were I am! (I am going to get into trouble over this!)

wifey just done her Zoom with her sewing pals.
Some of the old biddies want to see troops on the streets as well as the poliss, mind you they do live in Bournemouth, a hotspot.
Tried to contact local tax office to send me my bills, FFS.
Cannot get through on phone, no email address, so will have to go down tomoz in person as they is not workin this affo! again FFS.
And last year the place was heaving with peeps wanting 2 cents off their tax bill.
Think I'll need my hazmat suit!

Probably end up in Norfolk though so more east

Well spent some of the day trying to get through to the local tax office.
In these days of internet, email, etc, why is it that every fr igging website you look at gives no contact number or email address, especially in frogland?
Got various phone numbers none of which answered. Email address came back as "not working" but it looks as if the office was not only closed this affo but also will be closed all day tomoz, at least we think. (not sure).
So I have written a LETTER, (remember those?), which I will take with me when I travel down to the office in person tomoz at 8.30 a.m. or heartattacko'clock to me. And if there is no one there I will shove the envelope right up their letterbox, IF I can find one!

Spent the rest of the day redoing the commutator on that ffing Hoover, and meticulously cleaning the entire machine's insides of plaster dust. This time I was more careful to clean the commutator after getting the carbon off it and also cleaning the carbon brushes. Checked all the insulation between the segments are properly undercut. It is now running better but I don't trust it.

Also will have to clean the flexi tube, having cleaned every other Ffing thing. Took ages!!! So garden hose at full power tomoz.
Can i say I feel fulfilled? Not really.
Still wifey is dead chuffed at the progress made with the blessed patchwork quilt thing she is making for granddaughter's Xmas. (If she was paid by the hour it'd be worth about £2k...)
So have a lovely night, and wake up refreshed. Think of me getting up in the dark and cold.

Once she can shoot straight, make sure you hides the ammo!!!
