I think you will find the birds will be far too wary of it being a' trap'. When feeding, they like to feel they can escape quickly and easily if they have to, I don't think they would appreciate having to queue to get through the little 'ole.;):)
Yer but no but eye wondurd erbowt that anorl. Wot if eye made 3 sides out of 2 inch sqware ole metal mesh. Wind wud blow frew it so eye may still lose wurms witch eye wur tryin ter avoid. Me finkin behind this is to provide 24/7 wurms ter me fiends but only the small wons. If it wurks eye may make won fer blak burd size burds thut dunt let pigwings int. Ut the mowmint me blak burd chargis me lil burds un scars em oft and finishes me wurms ont flor witch is shalturd by tu bricks ter stop em gerrin blowd erway.

Anything that makes the birds feel 'trapped' will not really work. Unfortunately I can't draw on a computer so am unable to offer a plan!:)

Morning All :D
Apart from "it's not sunny, but it isn't raining (yet)" there isn't much to report.
I've done all my "start-the-day" chores.:)
I was in trouble yesterday for abandoning the wife to the grand-kids (she agreed to have them when I said "No-Thanks").;)
My trike building yesterday went wrong (the track is too narrow), so it will be "mangle-grinder" time later.
Have a great day everyone :D

Today was an opportunity to have some more "Trike Fun".
So, notwithstanding yesterday's adventure into "too small/narrow-land", today we went into "Essex Wide-Boy" mode and redid the dead axle beam in a newer, wider size (would you like to go large with your order Sir?").

First I cut off the tacks holding the previous version together (good penetration on all the welds (I am happy to say) we do like a bit of penetration don't we?

Then after I cleaned the plates up again I cut a fresh section of tube to provide me with a 34" track (same as a Hase Catweasel, and yes, I know it isn't a Catweasel, but I like that name).
Again, it was just lightly tacked and then I put the wheels back on and had some further fun with more tube and some clamps in assembling more bits together to look like a 24" wheeled Delta Trike.
You can see how it "dwarfs" the tadpole behind it. The track is 34" and the wheelbase is 55" in the mockery mockup shown here.

All angles/distances etc. are just guesstimates by eye at this time with no science behind any actual "fitting" to yours truly. Especially the bit of tube holding the seat-back up in the air.

Anyway, it is a "start" at least. :D

Isn't there some consistent guidance to shops?

Fave pub is now open. Half wanted to stay out, but went in. Was half empty an they're being very sensible. Was glad to stick some cash in their coffers, is a nice place.
