A mate has just been showing me his Classic Pontiac,,,,,,,, an 84 Trans Am,,,, couldnt help running a mental tape measure over it,,,, anyone ever tried to shoe horn a 6.6 into Defender
 
Well i would say if they can get the 6.2 v8 diesel to fit in a defender the petrol v8 should fit.
