ok all, if just finished work (seasonel) and iv taken no holiday so i have it all to come in cash :D

so after iv paid some out i want to get a snorkel for my disco.

but not sure wheres best/cheapest to go.
there is a britpart dealer near me so would it be a good idea to go through him or is there somewhere cheaper online??

hope you are all able to help me as i will have the cash thursday so thats when i want to put the order in, fingers crossed anyway.

i take it that they come as a kit, thing im not looking forward to is cutting a hole in the side of my Disco but i have to if i want it.

depends what you want to spend, safari snorkels aren't that expensive £180 inc vat from paddocks or mantec ones are about £135 or the fake safari ones on ebay for £120 (which I reckon would probly break at the first sign of a tree branch) or you could make your own.
There's loads of threads about diy snorkels on here don't really trust my diy skills enough to be making one so I'm just waiting for an excuse to buy a genuine safari:D
 
Try looking at Southdown, they do a nice one for about £200, but the also do an unfinished one , that its the plain unfinshed as in not polished or painted stainless tube for £139 inc VAT and P&P, i got one and have covered it in Black Fablon it looks grand, the fact its not finished allows you to finish it how you like, it was easy to install I did it in about hour and a half.

I bought a safari snorkel because I thought it looked the best. The cutting of the hole was so much easier than I thought, I just drilled 4 pilot holes roughly on each corner of the oval I needed to cut out then I used a wood cutting bit in a jigsaw, it cut perfectly clean and quickly the biggest headache was modifying the airbox, oh and the fact my pop riveter was useless when trying to rivet the door pillar bracket on. The job took me about 4 hours start to finish. just make sure the template is spot on before you start cutting. remember measure/check twice, cut once!! good luck and post pics after you finish the job.

Yep go with the safari, dont really know the other ones but the safari are good quality and spare tops are available.
AVOID ****PART, you'll have nowt but grief
Craddocks do a knock off version of the safari but I guess you get what you pay for.
