I want a Lightweight but!!

Hi, Right i've decided I want a Lightweight Landrover, I wanted to buy one in the early 90's but never did. So the question is just how rare are they now? How much would a reasonably tidy one cost? What do I need to look for? etc etc
Being 6ft7 and 20 plus stone will I actually fit in one? I used to have series 2a, but was probably some what lighter then! Has anyone near Portsmouth got one that I could sit in and see?

It will be cramped...They are not that rare, been a few decent ones on fleabay and autotrader recently. I'd say a decent one at the mo is about £2500 and up, theres some buckets about for a grand. All the normal landy probs, look for rusty chassis, bulkhead, footwells etc...I looked at a few and the wiring seemed to be FUBAR on most due to bad changes from 24 to 12Volt.

Thanks, I need to find one to try before I go any further!! Would a series 88'' have anymore room in the drivers seat? Or should I give up the idea? or lose weight!! LOL!!

Thanks that's what I thought, so the question is how much bigger am I now then in 1993 when I sold my Series 2a??

well i'm 6ft 2" and about 18 st .....dont have any problems driving it

Sitting in it playing with the steering wheel and the gear levers on the drive does not constitute driving it

i'l ave yer know I went out lanin today and drove home....yes drove it back...not towed or broken....its a first
