Just buy one and turn up with it..........thats what I always do then 'him in doors' cant say no  ;)

My Landy 90 is just so impractical, smelly, wet, lack of hideaway storage space etc for my work .

BUT for my hobbies its brill.....towing race car and horse trailer(not at same time;) ) I can sleep on the roof whilst at race meets. The horse gets tied to the 90 while he's groomed etc. Plus all my horse gear fits in the back with 2 moutain bikes and 3 people onboard.

So its the best vehicle I have owned.

There is no "but" involved when buying yer first Landy. You either buy one and get bitten by the bug, or you stand on the sidelines and envy all the Landy owners. GET ONE!!

buy, buy, buy....even if its a 1988 and falling to bits. they are noisey, smelly, vibrate like mad and forever breaking i'd never get rid of mine.

i'm a used car dealer and get a choice of 50 cars to drive home in at night and i always take me landy. you just cant beat pulling up behind the car in front and making them realise your head lights are level with they head.

I had always wanted a Landy. A chum in the motortrade offered me a "R" reg 110 CSW for just shy of £8.5k(mates price) - bit his arm off and used and loved for 2 years. A redundancy meant it was mortgage or Landy - tough choice! I could conceivably lived in the 110, but the wife and cats would not have seen the funny side. Sold 110 for £9.5k(too cheap). Regretted ever since, every day, more so when I see a 110 CSW with white roof and metallic green body.
Another mate gave me a 1981 SIII - needed lotsa work and money - but is used and loved regurlarly.
When finances allow(even if win lottery) a Defender will be bought without a doubt.
