Well, having lots of land rovers already, i come across what i think was probably one of the last Vogue P38s

Wore lass wanted one to run around in for a while, she hates the L200 but was never keen on Autos either, however after driving my Auto Disco she's warmed to the idea ( i still LOL at the shear panic every time we stop at a hill  )

So, i hear one is going and the lad wants **** for it not a lot anyway i though so it was worth a look, so we go and it is a tidy motor one of the better P38s i have seen despite the 160k on the clock.

I ripped the car to bits ( metaphorically ) and done the usual listing of faults etc to the owner then bid him 1/2 of the price he wanted, he accepted the offer

However i ended up with a great Vogue but a one with faults that i reflected in the price ! oh and its multi point LPG.

Ticking from rear right hand bank only when cold - assume manifold gasket as coolant sniff test was ok for heads etc and its not the usual tappet tick.

Hevac fault - covered in the other post

Cruise not working - probably vacuum pipes

needs a few tyres - already have them

dash display half dim - if i remember there are bulbs you can change ?

EAS works fine hunkers down on motorway etc however the NSR won't go to max height ??? strange

vibration at 70 mph onwards - probably a props shaft joint issue

top half tail gate only shuts first catch

Thats it really…… for now LOL still think i stole it for the price TAX AND TEST for 5 months too

Thats the one all the toys too looks like they threw all the left over toys at it.

don't really want to state a price but Mike Brewer would be proud and i have seen sheds on flee bay fetching twice what i paid, looking at the recent history he's been hit with a few big bills ( for more than i paid for it lol ) so i guess he wants shot he was no mechanic.

That could either be a leak in the airbag as it unfolds to go up or a dodgy height sensor.

I do the EAS digagnostics & cable for not a lot:)

Cheers Datatek , i already have that gear its the test book stuff i need to access all the other RR modules

its not a air bag leak my moony was on a height sensor too !!

Yep, the Vogue SE's have all the toys, & you are right, they threw leftovers at it - custom HK sound system left over from the Westminster, 2 pin diffs when they should be 4 pin, don't you just love LR.
Still, it can hold it's head up to many modern cars with regards to spec / trim levels.
Good fault free LPG'd Vogue SE's can go for up to 6k at the right time.

Yep its got the HK sound system the lot and the crap Nav, well if you reckon 6k then i have literally stolen this car hence why i have it, i have HPI checked it had it on the ramp etc etc apart from the faults listed (that the seller didn't ) i payed less than 1/3 of your suggested price :D

Well I put it up full height for 5 mins one of the valves was clicking like mad in the eas box for around 1 min then tada she leveled at max height took it up and down no problems now no idea what it was really think I will leave it alone now noticed a spanking new pump though it kick in every minute or so for around 10 seconds so that's around right I think so another problem sorted

theres a 02 reg p38 vogue sitting on a drive close to my work its not moved for atleast 12 months or more, dirty & tyres are flat looks abandoned/unused or poss broken, I knocked the door once but no one was in looks fully loaded thought it would do me as a decent unusual work van with some advertising stuck on it :D

Try putting a note through the letterbox with your phone number on, worked for me when I spotted a Goldwing. I bought it for a song, it hadn't been on the road for 10 years, totally original with 24k on the clock and full history:D
