It is tw@ts like these that give my beloved Range Rover and me a bad name...

A brief personal history:

When I was about 4-5 I went with my parents to a mueseum up north - can't remember which one...but they had a Series 2 Pink Panther built by Marshalls of Cambridge....

I fell in love with it, it looked so purposeful, so butch, built to last etc etc...

My parents struggled to tear me away from it, I was all over it, under it, asking question on how it worked....

Later that day we went through the gift shop and they had a 25-30 page book on the history of Land Rover....I begged and begged for that book (Still have it too) and it became my most prized possesion...I read it cover to cover, then started again, endlessly....I poured over the pictures in it...I drew them, I copie d them, I started creating my own pictures of Land Rovers in various places.....I was trully smitten.

It was when I saw my first Classic Range Rover and I fell in love with that too....when my dad said that it was also made by Land Rover - that was it....this combined everything I always wanted....Big Brutish look, Off Road ability, Comfy place to be...and IT WAS MADE BY LAND ROVER.....there was nothing better in my young eyes....

I started reading everything I could about these cars.....I cut pictures out of magazines, newspapers, even the tiny pictures in the original Autotrader magazines.....

When I got older and started to drive, Range Rovers were well out of my league, so I had BMW's and and old XJ6 Jag...they were nice....but not a Range Rover.

When some idiot wrote of my XJ6 by driving into it in a car park...I used the Insurance money and went to see my first Range Rover (A Classic - 1988 3.5 EFi) I was sooooo excited....I saw a few and settled on my first Range Rover....and she was fantastic....

Over the years I have had a few Range Rovers....and a couple of BMW 7'ers....the L322 is a combination of my two favourite vehicles the BMW 7'er and the Range Rover....and everytime I get in it I am like that 4 year old staring at that 1968 Series 2 Pink Panther all over again....I am smitten...and in love.....

BUT THESE TW@TS ONLY HAVE A RANGE ROVER FOR THE STATUS SYMBOL THEY HAVE BECOME - NOT BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE A PIECE OF AUTOMOTIVE ART, OR THEY STEM FROM A 65 YEAR HERITAGE....NO TO THEM IT IS A POSSESION TO FLASH ABOUT - THEY SHOULD JUST GO FECK THEMSELVES....AND I DESPERATLY WANT LAND ROVER TO STOP SELLING THESE AWESOME VEHICLES TO FECKING NUMPTIES WHO DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW SPEN KING WAS....IT REALLY FECKS ME OFF....

I think land rover are currently loosing ther way in life. Blinkered by sales and wider target markets. Prob down to tata just looking at profit figures.
But I think they need to find ther roots again

Perfect example is looking at the new fender concepts, more electricery then a space shuttle. But a fender should just be 4 wheels and an enjun :(

+1 I'm going to try and hold on to what I got.
I really don't like the changes that are happening , water mud and electricity just don't mix .
