Not me personally but the n/s sealed beam keeps poppin the fuse. well stressed out!! Before i strip the whole darn thing down, can anyone suggest a place where the wiring commonly rubs or give me a clue where to look.
thnx

Never thought of that, it is a strange one cos i change the fuse and the light works for a random time and blows, ie a wire isnt earthing out permanently cos is doesnt blow straight away, so i guess doing that will at least rule out the sealed beam before going on a major strip down, top tip!

dropped a 15amp fuse in tonight and it hasnt blown?? i know it is slightly larger than it should be, anyone think this is asking for it???? ie. still NEED to find fault

Age may cause an increse in resistance in the wireing,if it now works keep going but do not uprate the fuse any more because if a short is devloping a larger fuse may not blow, end result a wireing melt down/fire.

is it a 200tdi defender,if so check the earth where it comes out of the battery compartment to the chassis, the earth is crimped to the earth wire, its a bad design and a common fault on the 200tdi defender,it happened to me and your symptoms sound the same

i'll check that, what did you do to rectify it?
put a new earth wire from gearbox to chassis, the earth wire on the 200tdi runs from the battery to the gearbox, but along the way its got an earth crimped to wire and screwed to chassis, over time the crimp loosenes and corrodes=bad earth,i just put a new earth wire(bought of ebay) from gearbox(where original earth wire bolts)to one of the bolts on the centre cross member and that sorted all my electrical faults out
