Gone and dropped a brass bolt in the fuel tank of my 90 - any one got any suggestions on how to get it out?

depends how big the bolt is - and how much fuel you have got.

ya options are..

leave it there.
undo the drain at the bottom and have a fiddle about.
drain out the fuel and remove the tank, turn upside down and shake it out.

i spose theres always a match?

Thanks for the advice - I will pass on the match - as there was no easy way I drained the fuel - took the tank off - turned it upside down and gave it a shake - out the little brass bolt came!:D

Buy one of those long flexible grabber things with the three fingers on the end .... and get a hold of most dropped items in a flash. use it once and it's paid for itself. I use mine on a daily basis !

Essential tool, such as for brass that a magnet won't pick up, or in iron / steel spaces where a magnet sticks to every damned thing except the dropped bit you need to recover.

very useful tools, Charesy - but no good for removing bits from a fuel tank - because the neck is designed with bends in it and the access hole is very small and yu cant see what you are doing.

You go in through the big hole for the fuel gauge unit.
Skinny people could feed an arm in there. Normal people shove their woman's arm in.

Watch out if the tank is very full when she reaches in as her arm will displace an equal volume of fuel and there may be a spillage. With the price of fuel these days ....

Make sure she drips her arm into the tank so as not to waste it.
