I found a doodad under my series 3 what is it.....

So I cleaned the chassis on my recently acquired series 3 2.25 petrol. And after all the mud had been removed I found a doodad just hanging under the car next to the gearbox on the passengers side. I cant seem to identify it.....any thoughts?

Thanks and apologies in advance if it something so obvious that even a novice like myself should have worked it out.

transfer box linkage or someone has removed the Overdrive unit and left the linkage behind??

overdrive ?.its the pivot fot the 4x4 drive in high ,what your yellow kob rod fastens to,its missing pivot bolt and rod etc ,would have some spare bits if you need them

Yep just never took any notice of em. Cos series landies are ****e.. gis a disco or 90/110 any day..

your all incorrect. its the gangle pin and it should connect to the foofoo valve.

I thought as much, I better buy a hangelfad to reconnect it to the gizmodiddle with a cross threaded trackledaddle?

I have had a look and yes it is, nice thank you. I will take you up on the offer of the spare bits, let me know what I would need to repair this. (sorry I'm still a newbie to this) Send me a private message and we can iron out the details.
