Hi All,

Just bought myself a Lightweight 2.25 petrol, 24v effort for the summer :)

I don't know anything about it really, so is there a book or haynes manual that I should buy?

I have a couple of questions too! Any help would be appreciated...

1. What bench seats will fit? I don't have any, so will any 88" series or defender 90 seats fit? Cant I just knock up some long cushions for those square bits down the sides of the bed!!!

2. It has 16" mud and snow tyres at the moment, but I think it would look better with some chunkier tyres. What should i be looking at? do all series landrover wheels fit?

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me :)

Ian.

Almost forgot another quaestion.

3. Ear, what's all them levers for then? (only joking :p)

Not sure about the seats issue, but it should be series 3/90/110 wheels that fit.

16" tyre? bit small aint it :D

Try putting on some 750R16 tyres, look on ebay for em. If you look on my thread "here it is" with the pic of me 109, look at the tyres on that. Granted the ones i've got on are semi useless in rain :D

That's a nice bus you have :) Looks like you have spend some time on it. Did you paint it? and if so what paint did you use? Mine had a crap camo hand painted finish at the moment, might redo at the weekend.

That looks more like what I'm after. My tyres look like they are from a road car! esp lost in those huge arches.

Like i said them tyres are useless in rain. Paddocks do some good AT's in 750/R16, or its equivilent of 235/85R16.

Do an ebay search for series wheels/series tyres/750 tyre/7.50 tyre and you should find some. Oh they will need tubes, but there dirt cheap off paddocks for newones, its worth jsut doin that. (we had some 205/r16 on it, and its had the wrong size tube on the tyre, nightmare to get out!)

We did it by hand so its abit rough. But its better than the multilayered matt black that was on it. Some of the edges of green are perfect and the abit patchy, but you cant tell unless you get close and we're happy :D

The paint we also got off ebay, heres the seller: eBay.co.uk Shop - Fascinating Finishes Ltd: Paint - Military Vehicle:

Another lightweight owner, nice one :)

Here's mine
