I’ve been lurking around the forum for years and finally took the plunge to after buying my second S3.
The first was a 109 needing far more work/time/money/experience/tools/parts etc etc etc than I ever imagined. Got the old girl running and even driving up the road with a Jerry can taped to the front wing. The ultimate bodge. Still, loved that old thing but alas she had to go to to make way for building work. (Regular updates from the new owner and she’s road worthy trotting around Scotland somewhere).
Learning my lesson, I just brought a reasonably priced working 88 S3 with a MOT! More driving, less fixing was the plan.
She’s been fixed rather than restored so still some bits to do, and some improvements/upgrades I’d like to make.
Steering fixed, indicator and headlight now wiring correctly.
Wiring needs some work. Gearbox rebuild/replacement on the cards (crunch between 3 and 4). Chassis patching in a couple of years. New side panels, rear seats, seatbelts, etc etc. Would love an overdrive (anyone have one in Kent???).
That’s it. Love the forum and advice.
