How wet is yours?

OK I know I'm going to get wet, I know the sunroof leaks and I don't care.. I'm sure yours does too. But how wet does yours get? Opened mine up to grap the battery out the other day, and it was like there was a fooking fountain in there! The whole headlining was coated in drops hanging off it!

Mine is the same. I thought it was the sun roof, so I sealed it completely outside using duck tape, but the inside is still soaking....I think I need to look further back..it is parked on a slope, facing forwards, so must be coming in further back.

I've got the water ingress manual - does anyone know where I can get the stuff it says I need to apply?

is that the sunroof on the discovery ? there should be a hole in the corner where a lil pipe drains the water down the windscreen pillars and out under the wing ( to the best of my knowlege) open the sun roof and use an air gun to blow down this pipe, if there is a blockage it should be blown out. also the rubber seal that fits in the little channel thingy might be full of dirt, if you pull out the rubber seal carefully then clean out the whole of the 'hole' where the sunroof fits and wash the seal with soapy water dry it then refit it, this should cure the leaky sunroof. i found this out when mine started leaking ! when you refit the seal rub a lil bit of vasaline over it this will help to make a water proof seal. vasaline is better than grease as you can clean it off a lot easier than grease.

mine is only bad when its been frosty then i get a load of condensation on the roof

Left a load of logs in the back overnight and next morning found iccles on the roof lining where all the condensation had formed and been had dripping.

Oh actually, now you've said about the logs, I've got 5 tires in the back, and the bottoms are full of water from where they were left in the rain, that's probably why!

And viv, this is the defender section

Dont have a sun roof, but i still got a pond in each foot well. My inner drivers side sill fills up with water when it rains then pours over my lap on a left turn. Thought it was coming throught the doors, but it also drips off the bottom of the dash section bulk head bit. I suspect there may be multiple leeks..

i ,ve found on most defenders that if you find the pond or puddle in your footwell its the vent seals on the bulkhead

my roof leaks really bad only on drivers side

as for the roof i have put carpet on and now roof dry lol

Nice. I cut some carped to fit my roof and stuck it on with carpet spray. It was very very nice, then a couple of weeks later it all fell down. :doh:

never had a problem with the sunroof on my old 1 leaking but condensation is really bad , was glad my new 1 has'nt got a sunroof .
only wet i get in the new 1 is the water that drips of shoes onto the floor slill gets condensation though but dont drip on me sweed (and the heated screen gets rid of it pretty quick) along with any ice dance: lush!)

would have said the same till i got this new'un but it's the dogs bits (the heated seats is too)
only thing is how longs it going to last about 8 months till the warranty runs out probably

Hang on a minute, you have heated seats and windscreen in your landy? That's just wrong, I'll never be buying a new one. That's why Defender windows are flat you know, so you can use the ice scraper on the inside too! You don't need heating!

the new defenders are crap, they aint even real land rovers ! they dont have the two flaps you can open and it has a dash like a discovery. they ruined it just like they ruined the discovery by making that crappy american designed lego looking pile of crap the discovery 3.

worked fookin hard for most of me life so think i deserve a bit of luxury

as to me photographer it was the rug rat with his 10mps eos (had to down size it to fook to get it on the avatar

as to the landie its 1 of the last proper 1's before they started putting the trani engine in it and fooking with the vents

if you cant enjoy the money you have earnt whats the point in having it ?
i can never understand millionairs whos sole goal in life is to get more money into their bank account than they had yesterday but being to afraid of spending anything but the bare minimum they can get away with then working untill the day they die ! whats the point ? but i guess thats why im not filthy rich cos i love buying tools i dont have. i musta spent about a hundred grand on tools and have just applied for planning permission for a huge workshop in me back yard
