any where yer want mate, yer can side exit, , come from the manifld and straight out the front wing , up thru the back and up the side of the cab, or leave it where it is, depends how far off road yer going , never nocked one off a series yet ;)
 
Agreed, the mud flaps just get ripped off when off-roading as I found out! I originally put them on for the desert to give the person behind me a chance of seeing what was going on, not sure it actually did much though. I do like the way it makes the back end of the series look I have to say.

I understand I have put the mudflaps in the "wrong" place, before anyone makes comment!

The mud flaps on an 88 should attach to a bracket that is attached to the sloping bits of the cross member using riv-nuts

your not trying hard enough then ;)

on my 109 i have ripped the exhaust tail pipe off twice, welded it back on twice, ripped the entire rear section of the exhaust off shearing welds on the flange, ripped both of my rear mudflaps off admittedly one was jackknifing a trailer in reverse to get it in a gateway, ripped the top off me snorkel, bowed out my rear x-member while effecting a recovery on a 90 stuck in a 90 size hole......
 
Is it an 88 or a 109? If it's 88 you shouldn't need a hole if it's 109 you probably will - unless it's an underseat fuel tank with a side exit exhaust.

Simple answer is if the exhaust points out the back you need a hole; and you always need brackets unless they're still on there from the last set that got ripped off....
 
If any of you guys wants another exhaust, you can have mine free if you pick it up I'm gonna skip it.
The front section is sawn in half, the middle is brand new and the rear is very good.
