hi lads just trying to cure a reving problem.how do i test a stepper motor on my 3.9v8 disco.if i pull the wire off will it cut out on idle or is there another way to test it please

Push a paper clip or a pin into the wires u wish to test where the wires enter the plug so they connect with the connector pin and clip on your multimeter.

ok will do thanks
but a stepper runs at a frequency while changing steps that a multimeter wont detect..ie mine on the 1uz changes at 9ms..once at ecu designated opening voltage is dropped...need a scope..
but if you disconnect motor you can pullse with 12v to test it works.google testing stepper motors..all will be explained..
