Hi All,
I am thinking of trying to stop a bit of the roll when cornering in my discovery Tdi, the only thing I can think off to sort this is by changing the shocks ans springs but I don't want to alter the hight any suggestions on what shocks etc would be appreciated.

Trevor.

Thanks for the replies but I was looking for a little more detail i.e landrover original parts or another make, if you could give me a little more info I would appreciate it, also where to get the parts from would be helpful.

Many Thanks,

Trevor.

Hi Fox,
You don't mention how old your tdi is. Has it got anti roll bars on it?
If it has then do as Clutchdust says get some thicker ones.
My '94 tdi200 has anti roll bars on (as an extra when it was new) and I find that it doesn't roll that much. My Series 2 has ACE fitted and it doesn't roll at all. Maybe you could fit ACE to your TDI, that would be a worth while and interesting project. You could always carry half a dozen passengers and tell 'em to move to the opposite side, that should do it :D

is it a 200tdi or 300tdi ?
cause when i was after a disco 3 years ago i test drove a couple of 200s didnt like the the roll then test drove the 300 i ended up buying it was like another car and believe me she takes some stick when i finish work at 1 am

Sorry for the lack of info she is a 1998 300Tdi not sure about the roll bars.

Hi Yella thanks for that I have had her for 2 years my previous cars were all Peugeot's (company cars) but I am starting to do a few jobs on her to try and improve performance and the ride, I am now happy with the performance but I just want to tighten the ride a little.

Trevor.

has it always rolled or is it something it has only started recently, if it has got worse since the performance mods, i suggest it may be that you are driving it faster, all 4x4's roll to a certain degree as they have a higher centre of gravity, if you want to harden the ride you can fit uprated shocks, but like everyone else suggests, change the bushes first ;)

It has always rolled but as you say I am probably driving her harder now the performance mods are done, Scorpion racing do a full set of shocks, bushes and roll bars as a kit but I have not been able to get a price on them yet.

Trevor.

Yella do you have a web address fo Paddocks as I am getting no where with a web search.

Trevor.

Hi all,
I managed to get a price for all the parts (springs, bushes, roll bar & shocks) from Scorpion Racing £750 + Vat so if any of you know where I can get the parts from for less please let me know.

Trevor.

might sound ignorant this but try cornering differently, i have a 200 and if you take a different line you will find that you can hoon them round a bend without the feeling of toppling over. just take you a while to adjust to the different driving style.

thats a lot of money fer 4 corners, scorpion are renown fer being expensive the bush kit will cost you about 60 quid from paddocks and you can get a complete suspension set up for around 350, that means you are paing an extra 300 quid just to say you had em from scorpion ;)
