Mine were not to bad but i still decided to replace them as they were rusting underneath and would only need welding again next year.

The inside of the arch at the end of the sill needed a patch as well on mine

Remove the door shut rubber around the arch as well as the seat belt etc.
Rub a bit of sandpaper along the flat edges where the arch panel joins the rest of the shell and you will be able to see the spot welds more clearly, drill half way through them with a 5 or 6mm sharp drill bit, make sure you dont go right through. when done use a sharp chisel to split the join and the old arch will peel away as you go.
It should end up being able to be pulled away leaving this.

Sand off any rust and treat it with a rust killer.

Clamp the new panel in place and drill half way through (like you did when removing the old one) then puddle weld the holes and it will replicate the job of the original spots welds.
Seam seal around all the joins and its ready to prime and paint.

Quick paint job with a rattle can or two.

Hope that shows that its a pretty simple job. The new arches came from island 4x4 http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/rear-wheel-arch-repair-section-mwc4840-p-2770.html
