Most I've seen are running on RR/Disco chassis cut down. Anything possible as long as you enough time and money:)

ah good :)

just wondered cos i'd heard peeps favour the rr axles before and thought why!
lack of knowledge, ive never fitted a coil axle on leafs not sure if track rod at rear would foul spring ,ive allways fitted series body on cut down disco chassis ,but someone must have done it on here

surely it would be easier to buy a defender than mess around!

there's only so far someone should go with a series

disco rolling chassis was cheap about 10 years ago and came with log book ,a good few series were knackered ,was an easy way to make a vehicle

:) if we don't preserve them now they will be lost and that would be a crying shame.

someday Discovery's will be treated in the same way.

I know it will be lots of work ! got the rr axles cheap just thought it would be a good idea as am about to have new galvanized chassis fitted and while the old girls in bits it sounded like a good idea , but it was while at the pub the idea came up !!!!!

it can be done...you have to move some brackets i think. Popular mod with RTV trials on series who want more steering lock, RRC axles provide this because of the steering lock.

I havent done it but i spend an afternoon looking at other series trying to work out why they went round corners and i couldnt

I always thought disco and RRC axles were the same. I thought they just used them because there were more rotten classics then discos at the time. Maybe have a different steering lock
