I have had the headlining off and resealed the roof tray etc. My new sunroof seals have arrived and I am trrying to fit one. Do they have to be glued down? They are not a very positive fit. Is there an easy wway to get them to seat?

Gave up and put the old one back in, just in time before the rain came. Gave it a smear of vaseline. Its strange how the old one sits nicely in place whereas the bright shiny new one doesn't.

Yes it is a Britpart one. I haven't had any bad experiences with them despite their reputation.
It has been mentioned before that replacements have been a pain, but without using any slippery stuff, as it will keep popping out, I believe it needs to be clamped on a corner then work around with a bit of stretching of the seal, also maybe a pair of extra hands would be helpful.
Your replacement is identical to the original in the shape as it isn’t a straight posh on and appears to be pushed on also hooked under the metal it sits on.
I have only has a quick look just In case I have the opportunity to do a seal replacement, it appears that the glass has to be removed to give full and easy access.

Thanks for that. I got that impression that the original stuck in place as it appeared drier and less slippery - if that makes sense. The glass is going to be hard to remove as the headlining is back in place. I have 3 days off next week so will have another go with an extra pair of hands. It isn't hooked on as the outside of the piece it sits on has nowhere to hook under. Thanks.
