My DSE may soon need a new cylinder head and there's lots of talk around here that a cracked head may not be detected in a pressure test.
So, my question is if I need to buy a new (2nd hand) head how can I be sure if the head is good before installing it, since there's a chance that it may be cracked and not detected in a pressure test ?

It's a gamble:eek: I have seen new ones from time to time on Ebay, don't forget, Omega & BMW 525 heads will also fit.:)

When I was blasting, i used to clean aluminium race wheels ready for fracture testing, I could only use plastic media as to not alter/ hide the cracks but I can't remember how they were tested either ultraviolet light or x ray look into it a bit more before you splash out.
