I seem to have some movement in both shafts when I move them. Could this be the source of the vibration my car suffers from? It vibrates badly between 15-2000rpk. The more load you put on it the less the vibration?

front or rear? up/down movement or side er side ?. . . . .

Front (currently rear prop free and in 2wd mode). The movement is when lying under the car pushing to the front and pulling to the rear at an angle. So a bit up and down and a bit fore and aft, if you see what I mean.

You can see the shaft and cup has slight play in it whne you push/pull it.

YEP i know what ya mean, its normal to get a bit er play in them , but this sounds a bit excess, whats the outer cv's like as this does most work? its very difficult ta pin point a whine like this, some times i have found that by squeezing the gator , yer get more grease into the nooks, and it go's quite fer a bit , and then if, slight wear in the cv , it comes back after a time, worth a try. . . .:)
