Hi all,
1989 Classic autobox acting a bit funky, basically doesn't like to shift out of 1st when cold, but when its warmed up, works as usual. Spoken to emmots of colne, and kindly advised to change the filter. Is there a guide on how to do this and does anyone have the part number for said filter?

Many thanks!

David.

Hi mate, changing the filter is easy in principal, but can be fiddly. You need the filter, gasket and 2 'O' rings. Having extension bars for the wrench will help reach the nuts holding the pan on. You may have to remove or shunt the gearbox cross member forward. I did this by putting old oil on the chassis and moved it forward with a lump hammer.

Obviously drain the auto fluid first :) it's mazing how many people forget. Give the pan a good clean with white spirit and alllow to dry in the air.

I'll try to find the kit number for you
