First of all i know that land rover locks are rubbish and they are not really secure, but...

I've been thinking of swapping the rear door for a tail gate and cat flat type affair, but i was wondering if they offer the same level of protection from break ins as a rear door, or are they even worse for security?

cheers

I'd say a bit worse cos in the standard setup there is only a rubber seal preventing the tailgate being opened (assuming its just on anti Luce closures).
I put some z section channel on the cat flap bit but it would take much levering to get our of the way.
Having said that, the previous 2 hinge door wouldnt take that much to open either.

The cat flap has multi point locking, with shoot bolts going into sockets either side of the door, so should put up a bit of a fight. As you can just unscrew any door though makes me sure not to leave anything worth nicking in mine.
