Around 80% of the elements in my heated windscreen aren't working so I've just got a thin strip just to the left of the middle that's working and that's all. Are the elements likely to be repairable, could it be a connection problem, or am I basically likely to be stuffed and need a new screen at £400+ plus fitting etc?

No, and no and not if you have windscreen insurance.
My screen has a small unheated area due to a stone chipping the screen around 12 years ago, and as the last time I used this function was in the snowy winter 2011-12 it's not an issue for me.

is this the windscreen that got damaged by a big stone that flew up of a tipper lorry???;)

surely you could get a used one for not much cash? I doubt any repair would be worth trying given it must be much easier to fit a used one?

A used one:eek: New ones often start to fail after one winter, a used one would be a complete waste of time IMO, if they are glued in almost impossible to remove without damage.
