Hello,

Just wondering how much you recon it would cost to have a chassis changed on a 90, labour alone?

Cheers

Seen it advertised somewhere for about 2 and a half grand including the chassis. Think that was +vat so unless you really want one or it's your birthday or something probably more than your landy is worth:D

Get some friends over a huge assortment of new nuts, bolts, washers and bushes, a can of copper grease and do it yourself...

yeh do it yourself mate loads of people do you dont have to be an engineer, just need some good manuals, a lot of common sense, patience, decent tools and somewhere to do it.

I'd love to do it myself but I don't have patience! Can't really afford a new chassis either. I have access to a workshop where i could rebuild one.

haynes , paddocks and craddocks if you want a cheap load of rubbishy crap ill-fitting parts thrown together on 4 wheels with a nice shiney new chassis underneath it....

but if it's just bolts an that, they're fine...

got my door bolts from crappocks , and my captive nuts to fit on the bulkhead side , the bolts didnt fit the captive nuts (which , unlike the genuine parts , shatter when put under pressure).

The price is £2750 (worked on hard)
- I am not too sure about what will be done in the service, but all the little niggles will be sorted.
- New shockers and parts for MOT (included in price)
- Seems to have been well maintained
- Have had a good look at chassis whilst its been up on ramps, very clean and tidy, no rust and no alternating sounds when tapped. They have however, just welded a small plate onto a very small section of it at the back.
- Has a very strong reverse spring!
- Bulkhead has no signs of corrosion

Did they tell you the chassis was sound and have you now been told elsewhere that it's shot and needs replacing? If so, the Trading Standards dept. of your local council should be your next phonecalls.

Dint you start another fred recently about replacing a rear shock? Thought you'd got them done (see above) before you bought it?

Let us know mate ;)
