how much taller are remoulds then originals

been looking at remoulds, and have been told that on average they are taller then normal tyres.
is this true?
and also by how much?

Do you mean remoulds or retreads?

Remoulds should do what they say on the tin ie. 255/65

dont know the difference tbh.
for example will special tracks in 285 75 r16, be the same height as BFG muds in the same size.

CC's looked into this with the special tracks and they are slightly larger in diameter

Thing its to do with how aggressive the tread is or something

hi,

they can be a little bit taller but only because they could have more tread on them ie special tracks have bout 20mm of tread thats the only reason they will be different.

Some tyres are bigger, some are the same and some are shorter hope it helps. The bigger ones are slightly larger than the smaller ones

yeah but, no but, yeah but the bigger ones come in a range of sizes, as do the smaller ones, so the bigger, bigger ones might be more of a difference from the smaller bigger tyres than the bigger smaller tyres. Dont get me on to the middling tyres - they are a whole new ball game.

what are remoulds, and what are retreads, anyway and whats the difference, ithought they were illegal since the late '70s.
