I am thinking of having my 88' pickup/truck cab resprayed (by a professional that is, I am not doing it myself!). I intend to provide the paint and since the car is "light blue", I assume that I need some marine blue paint. Is it (more or less) the right shade, and how many litres of paint would I have to order?

Ask the guy who's doing it would be better. It absolutely depends on type of paint, undercoats, topcoats, clearcoats etc etc. No-one can tell you other than him as he's the only one who knows what he's doing.

I asked a paint shop that when I bought paint for my Landy, 1ltr tin to completely do the Land Rover in marine blue. Has to be diluted with thinners of course for brush/roller painting.

about 2 litres but if you are lucky you maybe could get away with about 1.2 to 1.4 litres for 2 coats. i use a epoxy based stuff not two pack in dulux brand. i think its metal sheild.

I used just under 3l when I did mine but that was two un-thinned coats of coach enamel applied with a roller. If it is being sprayed you should use much less than that.
However you may find it is the same price to order a 5l tin mixed to spec from your local paint supplier than it is to order a couple of 1l tins online. I did this with the 110 roof, got 5l of better grade paint made to order locally for only slightly more than 1l from the internet.
