Just for fun, I looked up Defender 90, 110 and 130 on Howmanyleft and added up all different versions.

This is to the end of 2015 and does not include Land Rover 90, 109, 110 or 127 -- I only added up models that were registered with Defender in the name. There are also 62 Defender 50s, whatever that is. Typo??

Taxed for on road use:

Defender 90 67,689
Defender 110 45,064
Defender 130 2,557

Not sure on 90/defender models but with the series versions they were sometimes also listed as rover etc so the figures arent as accurate as you would hope.

Just checked some models and my car 300 of which were made and they reckon 277 still left, thats an awful low fatality rate for any car especially one thats 10 yrs old.

Discovery 3 hse they reckon 538 taxed per year that seems a very low figure.

I searched on Defender 90, Defender 110 and Defender 130 to reduce that sort of error. Howmanyleft is not perfect. I'm sure the actual numbers are off a bit.

There are a few more that are in good running condition but are not taxed for on-road use.

Trying to find mine, a 110 van bodied diesel 1984 I think that translates to 4C Reg D
And that shows there were 1800 when I bought it in 2001 but only 524 now

We don't pay much attention to football. . .

Some days it looks like 1/3 of the Defender 90s on the road are in North Wales.

A lot of years ago I had a holiday in Wales, said I to a local, there's a lot of new landrovers about round here. Reply was to the point that it was all due to Chernobyl and compensation.

I would imagine the van and truck cab bodied ones got a harder life. I'll bet the percentage of surviving Station Wagons is a lot higher!
