:welcome2:Hi, im slowly getting there with my "Project" and had the pleasure to drve it at the weekend to turn it round on the drive ready for the next stint when when i get back, my question is how heavy should the steering be, I know they arnt equiped with pas and the deisel lump is heavy but it seemed very stiff ( it could be because its stood for a while and needs a good run and grease up) nothing seems to be seized when i had the front end jacked up, so i thought ill ask the people on here who have these beasts, or is it just since i have stopped swinnging 14lb hammers on plant ive lost all my brute force (still plenty of igorance left ill say it before some one does lol)
Cheers

Spell check not working (Just like my brain)

it'll feel heavy when the wheels aren't moving or if you have stupidly wide tyres on but in normal use it'll just take a bit more effort than an assisted - lift both front wheels off the ground and then steer to check there's nowt binding, should be able to turn the wheel easily with one finger with them raised

Nae stupidly wide tyres, just 7.50 x16, ill try jacking front up and spinning it, I think im just becoming a fortnight (thats tooweek) since i stopped exercising with slegde hammers lol
:)

I test drove a series 2a ambulance I thought about buying, it had 220's and was ridiculously stiff on the steering.
I thought summat was up with that thing the steering was really vague, I thought it was cause it had anti roll bars, or maybe summat was knacked.

Lots of things can seize up in the steering but my guess would be the relay - or you've turned into a wimp!

Im driving a 109 with 7.50 x 16 tires and its pretty hard to turn the wheel around when its not moving, once the vehicle is moving even slightly its easy though

but sitting on a flat surface not moving, and trying to turn it lock to lock is LOT of work

Meeoooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kent I was getting weak lol, cant wait to get it on the road and give it a good run that will free everything up that has gone stiff,
