Hi my name is Paul, I have just purchased a standard td5 mk2 landy. and live in Eastleigh. And am looking at going greenlining? However where do I start, do I fit lift kit first? Wide wheels or winch bumper sump guard diff guard steering guard? Where!

a good service, and breather extensions. AT tyres are fine.
just make sure all the std stuff works as it should..

I've taken mine out today for the 1st time. Completely std bar all terrain tyres, a snorkel and extended breathers.
It coped completely fine and was never out done by a heavily modified swb shogun and a bob tail disco.

Granted I'm sure they could have done so much more and so could my landy, but I was gobsmacked how good it is std

Welcome to the loonyzone, Paul! :)
Wouldnt waste your money on all that stuff, mate. Standard Disco with some better tyres is well up to most laning. The experience and technique of the driver makes more diffference than the kit.

Hello what do you mean by extended breathers?

you dont need anything extra to go green laning apart from a tow rope, a thermos and a couple of people to go with you. I have a completely standard 90 and thats all i need

standard vehicles are immensely capable and if you cant get up a green lane and need winches and **** then you shouldnt be driving it in the first place as it will damage the lane and get it closed.

'fraid I have to agree. Just don't get carried away and take unnecessary risks.
All you need is common sense. AT tyres are fine.

I should add, common sense says you should learn to service your Landy. It won't last long if you don't look after it.
Beyond that a mobile with data connection will help you find lanes and get out of trouble if you break down.

Hello what do you mean by extended breathers?
The diff, fuel tanks, gearboxes etc all have hoses to allow them to breath. If your going in deep water they need extending to prevent water entering the parts they are protecting. Google it

Okay the one concession would extended breathers. Even just up into the engine bay Is better
Fair enough. The breathers are designed to not let water in, but extending them can give you a bit more peace of mind and improve ease of maintenance.
And don't forget your wader plugs if the Td5 has them.
